The Greene County Rams followed their big win over Saydel Wednesday with a 4-2 loss to non-conference Bondurant-Farrar Thursday in Jefferson.
Senior Wade Adcock pitched the entire game. He struck out six batters and walked three, but all three walks resulted in runs for the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays scored in the second inning. The Rams got on the scoreboard in the fourth on a Nick Breon single that brought in a run to tie the score at 1. The Rams scored again in the fifth on a Jordan Patterson RBI double to take a one-run lead. The visitors scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. The Rams challenged in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs against them and no baserunners the Rams managed to load the bases before a ground out ended the game.
Patterson also hit a single and Ben Wilkins hit a double and a single.
The loss put the Rams at 5-5 on the season. Their record in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference benefited after PCM ended up forfeiting the game they won against the Rams last Friday. The Mustangs had used an ineligible pitcher in the game. The Rams’ HOIAC record is now 3-3.
